The PT12-BC for Bands and Circular saws offers significant re-tipping savings in both time and alloy. Minimum tooth preparation is needed prior to tipping. Unlike resistance weld tippers, which grind away expensive alloy in the re-tipping process, the PT12-BC melts the old tip and adds new alloy only as needed. Plus, the new tip is formed by chill molds which closely match the tooth configuration, so there is less to grind away, saving time and materials. A wide variety of alloys can be used, high-speed steel being the next most common.
