Co-Planar Scanning

These scanners employ the co-planar configuration.  This configuration places the laser reference beams in the same plane as the linear imaging system.  The advantages of this arrangement are that space requirements are small (typically a few inches), they require smaller or no covers to block external lighting and only a small portion of the log is blocked by handling equipment.

The DPS-4024 offers full profile geometric scanning in full length stem merchandising applications for increased lumber recovery.  The animation shows the stem definition data allowing the bucking system to optimize the stem.

The DPS-4024 Dual Profile Log Scanner is designed for the harsh sawmill environment. It includes a large scan envelope that easily accommodates scanning of full length stems for bucking applications. The DPS-4024 delivers two independent profiles at a rate of 1000 scans per second.  It is ideal for high-speed scanning of stems in high production environments.

Integrated Ethernet and TCP/IP allows simplified installation and maintenance. Encoder and scan zone synchronization signals are simultaneously distributed to all heads in a scan zone.
